I have been in the fitness industry for over 17 years, working as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, fitness manager, and group fitness director at very reputable clubs such as Lakeshore Athletic Club, Gottlieb Fitness Center, Equinox, Oak Park Athletic Club, East Bank Club, Export Fitness, and also at neighborhood YMCA’s and YWCA’s. I take pride in what I do and am exhilarated by the way I am able to impact lives through health and fitness. I honestly could not see myself doing anything else! Prior to my fitness career, I danced professionally for many years, studying with Ruth Page, Joel Hall, Joseph Holmes, Gus Giordano, Darlene Blackburn and Muntu African Dance. After retiring, I knew that I would continue to make health and fitness a priority in my life. I teach Step aerobics, Kickboxing, Spinning, all types of dance classes, gymnastics, traditional dance aerobics, Yoga, and Pilates classes throughout the city. I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Organizational Leadership and am currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. I hold fitnesss certifications through the American Council on Exercise, the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American College of Sports Medicine, Yogafit, and The Physicalmind Institute Throughout my career, I have had the great fortune of working with special populations such as cardiac rehab patients, women with osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia, pre-post natal, obesity, and seniors, as well as conditioned athletes, and apparently healthy individuals ages 3 to 93. I have volunteered my services teaching free Yoga and Pilates classes at homeless shelters and women’s shelters, which has proven to be an extraordinary experience. I strongly feel that everyone is entitled to reap the benefits of a regular exercise program, and time restraints should not be a hindrance. “Simply Fit” gives individuals the opportunity to exercise at his/her leisure without having to purchase a health club membership that he or she may never have the time to use. This is why I created “Simply Fit.” I have a holistic approach to health and fitness and would love to touch my clients in as many ways possible. Our health is the single most important aspect of our lives and I look forward to helping you achieve the lifetime benefits that my service can provide. My Team Of Instructors I work with a team of energetic qualified fitness professionals, helping me to spread the word about fitness. All Simply Fit instructors are certified professionals with 10 years or more experience in group fitness instruction, personal training, exercise physiology, or in health care-related fields. Some of the affiliated certifying bodies include ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM; such Yoga studios as Moksha Yoga, Krya, Bikram, NU Yoga, and Pilates studios such as Physicalmind Institute, and Frog Temple, just to name a few. In an effort to offer our clients continued maximum quality instruction, our instructors are required to attend continuing education in the fitness field, including classes, seminars, workshops, and practical exams. |
